I'm actually a fan of modest fashion, low-key.



I know, I know. The word "decent" and fashion don't usually go together, realistically speaking but that's a story for another day. By "wearing shorts decently", I mean wearing shorts comfortable for the conservative woman.

I noticed that I get a lot of looks when I wear shorts and some people have even commented that they can't pull of the look.

Oh, but you can.



You really can.

1. Silhouette is key.

The major step is selecting a silhouette that you feel most comfortable. A-line or boxy shorts are my thing. I can't deal with tight shorts. They're less versatile and less compatible with varying occasions.

In conclusion, I would advise a boxy or A-line silhouette. Any silhouette that's loose really. This is the only tip

2. Match the length to...

The occasion. There's almost nothing more important than being occasion-appropriate and in this case, it's all about length.


3. Low crotch.

In my experience, shorts with  low crotches are more versatile and "socially acceptable"


4. Dress it up. Or down.

It's all about the styling. Style your shorts with a shirt tucking in with a leather belt and brogues or dress it down with a striped t-shirt, baseball hat and mules. It's really up to you.
