The Lazy Girl's Guide To Being Productive

14:34

Have you noticed that depressed people sleep a lot?

It's a never ending cycle you see. You say you want to do a particular thing. You tell your friends all about it. You don't do it though. Then you see that someone else has done it and you feel threatened, discouraged and ask "why bother?" You get really sad and it affects your daily activities. You sleep and sleep and sleep.

Until you find the next great thing you're going to do. And the cycle continues.

Tired of the never ending cycle? Get productive today with four easy steps (applies to all of the human race, not only girls). But seriously, there's almost nothing that can't be achieved. The first step towards greatness is taking action:

1. Set Goals

This might seem over-flogged but if you want to actually achieve something, the first step is to put down your goals. This could be something like "getting a trim tummy" Or "Getting an A". The process is the same be it short term or long term goals and being precise about the goal is key.

This is pretty much the easy part. If you're putting effort into being productive, chances are you already know what you want to do.

2. Outline a plan

Often overlooked, planning is the most important part of achieving a goal and being productive. I remember my mum telling me at a very age that when you plan, you've already gone halfway.
This is the part that requires concentration, knowledge and a healthy dose of reality.

First things first, write down the plan. No seriously, write it down. You have super memory, there's no paper close by, blah blah blah. No excuses. Writing it down not only makes the action plan real but it also helps your mind formulate the structure properly.

What do you need to do to achieve this plan? This is where knowledge comes into play. Think up actions that'll help you achieve your goals. If you can't think of anything, well, thank God for the Internet.

Now, put the needed actions alongside your schedule. How can you work them into everyday life? For example,

Goal: you want to get an A. Action: You have to study. Plan: If the exam is in a month and you have 30 chapters, you simply study a chapter a day for about an hour at night or during a break.

Easy right? Ha ha.

3. Set a routine

When I unsuccessfully tried getting rid of my acne for about 9 years, I didn't understand that I was to stick to a routine. I jumped from product to product until I finally figured it out.

To be productive, you have to set a routine and stick to it. Whether you're trying to grow your hair or produce inspiring content for your blog, no matter how monotonous, routines play a big part in productivity. Just ask YouTubers. They *coughs* we *coughs* have a routine for everything.

4. Just do it

I think no one knows more than me how difficult it is to stick to a routine. I get it. You've just come back from work and you're bone-tired. Just do it. You don't want to but you have to. Why?

Think of the repercussions. What will happen if you don't? This action, while seemingly small will probably set off a chain reaction that may or not leave you overwhelmed in the future. Do you really want to take a chance?

But I get. Sometimes, you just can't. Life gets in the way and so on. I should know. There's been no video on the channel in two weeks and I only posted on the blog once last week.

The thing is to get back up, wear lipstick (differs based on preference) and attack.

To wrap this one up, I'm just going to put my most used quote this year:

"Life is just a pot of beans"

I have no idea what it means. If you do, let me know in the comment section.

How do you stay productive?

I simply step outside the box and seek inspiration.

  1. I get so restless when Im not being productive. Everyday I pen down my To-Dos with a time frame. I try very hard not to let them spill over to the next day as well.

"Life really is a pot of beans" sometimes it shakes things up and becomes moi moi. Sigh!
