One of the perks of being a blogger, apart from attending events and having a swell time that is, would be discovering brands one would've not known otherwise.




On the 23rd of September, I attended the Cornucopian blogger's garden party and the first thing I noticed was the ambience. Awesome stuff.

I was about two hours late so I missed a lot of but at least made it in time to hear the story behind the brand, witness a treasure hunt (the treasure was found before I could even participate) and network with fellow bloggers.





I'm really not into beaded jewelry (not since 2013 at least) but even I found the pieces enchanting up close. The quality and craftsmanship were quite impressive.

The brand:

Cornucopia specializes in contemporary handcrafted jewelry made of precious and semi-precious stones.

The story behind the brand is very inspiring actually and I learnt that one doesn't need to wait till everything is in place to follow one's dreams.

The CEO, Mrs Ambibola, started her business with 20,000 Naira, a dining table and dedicated passion. The brand is 10 years old and is flourishing today with a variety of customers.

One thing I noticed about the Cornucopian pieces was that each piece would stand the test of time which is an important factor to consider when making purchases.

And I'm not just referring to the quality. I mean the styles were classic, much like the way "sound of music" had lasted for generations.

The theme was floral (you know, garden party and all) but for some strange reason, all the floral pieces in my wardrobe were no where to be found. Really odd, seeing as in 2012 almost all my clothes had a floral pattern. I ended up going with monochrome because, when in doubt... (up in the blog soon)




Two words: Goody bag.

The cupcake was amazeballs, the nail polish is the exact shade I'd been looking for and the jewelry is quite dainty and in tune with my current style.

I had an awesome time even though I was late so I'm thinking I should attend more events in the future as opposed to holing up in school.

There is an age-old formula that has been proven over and over again:

Bloggers + Food = Awesome.

Scratch that. Simply put,  Food = Awesome.


On the 21st of may, I attended a blogger taster hosted by The Blogger Point bloggers agency and Bibi's Grillhouse at Maryland Mall, Ikeja, Lagos.

I attended the event with Seyi, (so there's a video at the end of this post)  a blogger buddy and we had great fun.


It was a blogger taster (strictly by invitation) so I was quite pleased to see other blogger buddies. It was nice catching up with them seeing as I've been off the grid (more of that in future posts)



Granted, great company makes almost everything better but the food was actually quite good. I went with the fail-proof chicken and chips combo and it was quite bomb. Beat my favourite fast food joint right there. Seyi went with Boli (roasted plantain) and fish. The plantain was just how I like it- Soft (but not soggy) and ripe.

The prices were quite affordable too. My meal cost 1,200 Naira so it was well worth it.







Which is your favourite- Fast food or Fine Dining? (state your reasons)

I'll go first, fast food. I love the relaxed, calm atmosphere as opposed to the glamour of fine dining.

I am by no means a beach person. I really don't see the point of going to a place where there's an endless supply of sand and raging sun.

Needless to say, I especially don't understand why Nigerians get excited about going to the beach. We get enough sun and sand already in our day to day lives, yes?


And yet, here I am jumping for joy. Oh, the irony.

Last month, before I resumed blogging, I went to the beach with a couple of bloggers. It was suprisingly quite fun. To be honest, I went primarily so I could make video content for my you tube channel (subscribe here  ; ).

The hangout was organized by Out With The Bloggers (check out their Instagram) and included a boat ride to the beach and back.

That had to be my favourite part. After I got over my fear of course.


We went to Takwa Bay "The safest beach in Lagos". This hangout gave me insight as to  why people love the beach so much and what I've been doing wrong all along. Here's how to have fun at the beach:

1. But first, a fun mind

I've learnt that you can have fun doing almost anything as long as it doesn't include a painful or an unpleasant event. In my case, poetry for instance. I just can't...

It's all about conditioning your mind. That been said, my first tip is to keep an open mind.


2. Fun and games

It's not enough to take a beach blanket and just lie in the sun. That gets old pretty fast, yes? Come up with cool games you could play with your friends or stick to the classics, for example, charades. Always a good idea.

3. The more, the merrier.

The more people you go with, the more fun you'll have. They're directly proportional. I'm still not exactly sure how it works, but there you have it. If you can prove this formula, do not hesitate to leave a comment.


6. Nostalgic fun

If all fails, take out your camera and snap away. Capture moments, things that catch your eye, take snapchat selfies and make cool boomerangs.

I promise, tomorrow you'll be looking at those pictures thinking "Wow! I had a lot of fun yesterday".

Even if you didn't.
